Central Virginia Health Services, Inc. (CVHS) is a nonprofit, community-based health care agency based in New Canton, VA, and the largest community health center in Virginia by sites and patients. It provides high-quality primary health care to anyone in need and operates 23 offices across Virginia, including locations in Petersburg and surrounding areas. CVHS started in 1970 as the Central Virginia Community Health Center to serve Buckingham, Cumberland, and Fluvanna counties and has since expanded to urban and rural communities. Services are delivered through multiple sites with a mission to address common local health care challenges such as disease, access, poverty, and lack of insurance.
