What conditions do your physical therapists treat?

Orthopedic problems including sprains, strains, tendinitis, arthritis, tendon/ligament tears, muscle tears, joint or soft tissue inflammation, joint stiffness, joint pain, post-fracture or other post-surgical care.

What techniques do you use?

Mobilization exercises, strength and endurance exercises, stretching, joint or soft tissue mobilization, neuromuscular re-education, electrical muscle stimulation, hot and cold packs, ultrasound, kinesiology taping.

What can I expect at my first physical therapy appointment?

Typically, you are referred to a physical therapist by your primary care provider or orthopedic specialist. At your initial visit, you will undergo a comprehensive evaluation of your musculoskeletal concern. The PT will discuss the results with you and recommend a treatment plan.

How is the treatment plan carried out?

The treatment plan will be carried out over a specific duration of time, either in an inpatient or outpatient setting. Some parts may be completed at home for added comfort and routine consistency.

What will my PT ensure during treatment?

Your physical therapist will ensure you feel safe and comfortable carrying out the treatment plan, and you will have an opportunity to try out new exercises or techniques under the PT’s guidance. You will also be able to ask questions and participate in creating your treatment plan based on your health history, needs, and goals.
